The head of the Saeima Foreign Affairs Commission, Inara Murniece (National Alliance), in an interview with TV-24, speaking about the recent drone attack on Moscow and the region, noted that "finally, Muscovites, Russians felt what war is like." In response to a journalist's remark about the dissatisfaction of Russians with what is happening, the Latvian politician suggested that "Putin may not know what the people think."

"He does not use the internet, and he only receives papers with good news in his folder. At least, that is the impression one gets," the deputy remarked. The statements by Putin and his press secretary that the war will end by autumn were explained by the Latvian politician as attempts to calm the agitated part of society.
