The director of the Riga Secondary School named after Natalia Draudzina, Maris Zageris, has decided to resign, the Riga City Council reported.
Zageris submitted his resignation, and the employment relationship is planned to be terminated on October 31 by mutual agreement of the parties.
The municipality will appoint an acting director of the school and announce a competition for the position of director.
As reported by bb.lv, earlier information emerged that about 20 teachers left the school, dissatisfied with the chaotic and unfair management style. Due to the lack of educators, separate lessons had not been conducted for a long time.
Problems began in August of last year when Zageris took the position of director. He is accused of being unable to establish cooperation with teachers and organize the school’s work, as well as of unfair treatment. His deputy, in turn, is accused of rudeness.
Considering the widespread information, the Riga municipality planned to address the State Service for Quality of Education with a request to expedite the assessment of the school director's performance. Now the assessment will not be necessary.
