The singer was outraged by the White House's use of her hit.

The White House has faced criticism for using popular music on social media without the consent of the musicians. Now, the Trump administration has decided to use Ariana Grande's hit.

Singer and actress Ariana Grande has become the latest pop star to criticize the White House after it used her music without permission in a social media post promoting the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

In a TikTok video posted on June 9, 2026, showcasing arrests conducted by ICE, the White House used Ariana Grande's song "Bye" as the soundtrack.

In the caption, the administration wrote: "Bye-bye. President Trump has secured the most protected border in history."

Grande, who is currently on her Eternal Sunshine tour in support of her new album, responded in the comments: "Please never use my music in connection with this barbaric, inhumane, monstrous nonsense again."

This comment quickly drew attention online but was later hidden by the White House account. However, the American singer made sure her message remained visible by posting several screenshots of the comment on social media.

All of Ariana Grande's comments were deleted by the team responsible for the administration's social media.

In response to the use of the song by the Trump administration, Grande's team succeeded in having the audio track removed from the platform. The TikTok video promoting the administration's immigration policy is still available, but now without sound.

Ariana Grande-Butera was born on June 26, 1993, in Boca Raton, Florida. She is the daughter of Joan Grande, a Brooklyn native and CEO of Hose-McCann Communications, a manufacturer of marine communication equipment owned by the Grande family since 1964, and Edward Butera, the owner of a graphic design firm in Boca Raton. Of Italian descent, Ariana has repeatedly emphasized her connection to Italian-American culture, pointing to her Sicilian and Abruzzese roots.
