In an interview with Al Arabiya English, the Belarusian leader compared the Russian-Ukrainian conflict to the Middle Eastern one and emphasized that the problems that led to the emergence of these conflicts “can only be resolved at the negotiating table.”

“Therefore, we need to think it over, take control of our minds,” the head of state urged. “We need to survive this conflict, sit down at the negotiating table with three of us — Lukashenko, Putin, and Zelensky — and agree on how we will overcome the consequences of this conflict.”

Lukashenko noted that “we need to use any steps to achieve a long-term peace agreement through compromises,” but if politicians realize that a deadlock has been reached, “there will be escalation and the situation will get even worse.”

Lukashenko also called the scenario in which the conflict between Ukraine and Russia spreads to the territory of Belarus absolutely unacceptable.
