Two drones have fallen on Finnish territory, reports the Finnish broadcasting company YLE.
According to the country's Ministry of Defense, before this, "several slow-moving objects" were spotted in the southeastern part of the country — in the maritime zone and near the border with Russia, as reported by Meduza. Prime Minister Petteri Orpo stated that the drones were likely Ukrainian.
"This is a violation of territorial integrity — a very serious matter. It is likely that these are Ukrainian drones, but the circumstances are being clarified and we will provide details later," Orpo said.
Ukrainian military forces have been attacking infrastructure in the Leningrad region with drones almost every day recently. At least three times in the past week, the largest Russian port on the Baltic Sea — Ust-Luga — has been targeted by drones.
Authorities in the Baltic states reported several times a week that drones, presumably Ukrainian, had entered their airspace. On the night of March 23, one drone fell in Lithuania, and on the night of March 25, one drone fell in Estonia and Latvia.
Pro-Kremlin media and z-bloggers have started spreading information in light of these incidents that the Baltic states allegedly tacitly allowed Ukrainian drones to fly over their territory. The Latvian Ministry of Defense rejected this thesis, stating that the Kremlin is conducting a "large-scale, coordinated information operation" against the Baltic states.
