Russian schoolchildren have "got hooked" on Belarusian chocolate "bottles" with cognac and liqueur. Sometimes this affects the bodies of teenagers. The manufacturer believes that the consumption of candies with alcohol by children "falls within the responsibility of parents."
Chocolate candies with alcoholic filling are gaining increasing popularity in Russia ahead of the New Year holidays. As reported by the Telegram channel "Baza", shot glass candies with strong alcohol have been mass purchased by schoolchildren on marketplaces, who are unable to buy alcohol in stores.
According to the publication, young people are actively stocking up on chocolate "bottles" and other alcoholic sweets with liqueur and cognac inside, in order to secretly bring them to festive events.
Russian schoolchildren have "acquired a taste" for alcoholic candies against the backdrop of a viral trend on social media that has promoted the "bottles" from the Belarusian confectionery factory "Kommunarka" and French "pears".
The contents of the chocolate containers, the publication notes, are enough for half a shot glass. The average price is up to 2,000 rubles for several pieces in a set.
Some schoolchildren say that after just a couple of candies, they experience symptoms of nausea and dizziness, likely related to sudden strong alcohol intoxication.
"Little joys can create a big miracle!"
In response to the emerging publications, the Belarusian candy manufacturer assured that the "Chocolate bottles with cognac" and "Chocolate bottles with liqueur" are produced according to recipes approved by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus. "This product belongs to the group of "confectionery products" and is not classified as alcoholic products, which have age restrictions," the statement said. "The issue of children consuming alcoholic confectionery products falls within the responsibility of parents. Consumption of such products, like any other food, should be reasonable."
However, the "miracle bottles" are promoted not only as a festive attribute but also as a source of strength during workdays. "To make the week truly productive, it needs to be started right!" the company's advertising slogans insist, calling the candies with liqueur and cognac "the secret of inspiration and energy." "These sweets will provide an incredible boost of positivity and strength for an entire week ahead!" claims "Kommunarka." "Don't forget: little joys can create a big miracle!"
