Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Gašpar: Slovakia will not provide military assistance to Kyiv.
Slovakia is not providing military assistance to Kyiv and does not plan to do so in the future. This was stated by the Vice-Speaker of the Slovak Parliament, Tibor Gašpar.
“The current government led by Robert Fico continues to state that Slovakia will not provide military assistance to Ukraine from state reserves. This course is planned to be maintained in the future,” he said.
The politician noted that the country's leadership has clearly defined its policy with an emphasis on humanitarian aid supplies and diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.
Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that the sending of MiG-29 fighter jets and air defense systems to Ukraine, initiated by the previous government, left the country unprotected. According to him, the security of the skies over Slovakia is now ensured by Hungarian, Polish, and Czech aircraft.
