The likelihood of a military conflict between the U.S. and Iran remains high, as Tehran is unlikely to make significant concessions during negotiations. This was reported by Reuters.

"It is very unlikely that they will make concessions tomorrow that would be sufficient for the U.S. to confidently declare a breakthrough. Therefore, I believe that military conflict is more likely than not," noted Edmund Fitton-Brown, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

It is noted that in order to reach agreements and reduce the risk of escalation, negotiators in Oman will have to take into account Iran's principled position on its missile program.
