OLED TV owners were advised to protect the matrix from burn-in.

Journalists from Tom's Guide listed tips for extending the lifespan of OLED TVs. The material is available on the portal's website.

The authors noted that OLED TVs provide stunning picture quality and have very high contrast. However, even the best models are susceptible to wear and burn-in. Experts named ways to protect the expensive matrix of the device and prolong its service life.

First and foremost, owners of TVs with OLED screens were advised to enable the pixel shift or screen shift function. "This feature periodically shifts the entire image by a few pixels, preventing static elements from being fixed in the same position," the journalists explained. In LG devices, this option is called Screen Shift, while in Samsung and Sony, it is called Pixel Shift.

The authors also recommended enabling the logo brightness dimming feature. When activated, logos of news channels or streaming services that are usually displayed statically on the screen will appear with limited brightness. Additionally, TV users were advised to turn on the panel refresh function, which will automatically calibrate the pixels for even wear.
