In the U.S., Samsung acknowledged responsibility for the fire caused by the Galaxy smartphone.

Samsung Corporation has acknowledged its responsibility for the explosion of a smartphone in the United States. This was noted by Android Authority.

The incident occurred in November in a private home of a Galaxy S25+ user — it is known that the owner of the device resides in Indiana. According to the victim, who shared their story on Reddit, the phone exploded and caught fire at night — likely overheating while charging. Later, Samsung contacted the victim and stated that it would conduct an investigation.

The burnt smartphone was kept at the fire department for a month before being handed over to Samsung. The owner of the device stated that they only used original chargers. Samsung acknowledged its responsibility and compensated for the damages. The company paid for the burnt smartphone, medical expenses, and home cleanup. The device owner also received $1,500 in moral compensation — for themselves and two relatives who were in the house at the time of the fire.

Journalists from Android Authority reached out to the victim, who noted that they consider the $1,500 paid by Samsung to be an insufficient amount for compensation. Most likely, the user will sue the Korean corporation.
