Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic acknowledged that with age he has lost speed in movement and decision-making on the court.
“I understand that I no longer move as I used to. Perhaps I have lost fractions of a second in speed, anticipation, and decision-making compared to the period when I dominated the tour — that’s okay, that’s physiology. At this stage of my career, it’s important for me to compensate for these losses: to neutralize weaknesses and emphasize strengths in order to still compete at the highest level — with Alcaraz, Sinner, and everyone else,” Djokovic is quoted by Serbian journalist Sasa Ozmo.
The 38-year-old athlete also mentioned that during the off-season he worked with biomechanics specialist Mark Kovac, analyzing specific elements of his game.
Djokovic is a 24-time Grand Slam tournament winner. Throughout his career, he has won 101 titles in singles.
