The 38-year-old undefeated world boxing champion in the heavyweight division according to WBC, IBF, WBA Super, IBO, The Ring, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk stated that he intends to retire from professional boxing. But not right away.
“I want this fight [with Deontay Wilder]. I think Deontay does too. Two or three more fights,” Usyk said, as reported by The Ring.
In his last fight, which took place on July 20 at Wembley Stadium in London (United Kingdom), Usyk shared the ring with British boxer Daniel Dubois. Alexander won by knockout in the fifth round. For the boxers, this was a rematch, and the title of undisputed world champion in the heavyweight division was at stake.
