The world’s number one player from Belarus and four-time Grand Slam champion Arina Sobolenko has risen from fourth to second place in total prize money earned throughout her career.
In the updated WTA rankings as of November 10, Sobolenko has a total of $45,175,621 in prize money.
At the top, by a wide margin, is the legendary American Serena Williams ($94,816,730).
In third place is the world’s second-ranked player, Polish Iga Swiatek ($43,640,490), followed by Venus Williams ($42,867,364).
In fifth place is Romania's Simona Halep ($40,236,618), in sixth is another Belarusian, Victoria Azarenka ($38,890,473), and in seventh is Russian Maria Sharapova ($38,777,962).
Sobolenko won the US Open this season, as well as the Masters events in Miami and Madrid, and a 500-level tournament in Brisbane. She set a record for the most prize money earned in a single year of competition — $15,008,519.
