The Saeima Begins the Winter Session 0 9

The winter session is expected to conclude on April 2.

In connection with the start of the winter session, a meeting of the Presidium of the Saeima is scheduled for today.

In September, the Saeima began the autumn session, which ended on December 22. The last meeting of the autumn session took place on December 18.

At the last meeting of the autumn session, the ruling coalition failed to secure a quorum, resulting in not all bills being considered at the last regular meeting of the year. This means that the deputies will return to these bills only in the winter session.

According to the regulations of the Saeima, sessions are divided into regular and extraordinary sessions. There are three regular sessions in the year: autumn, winter, and spring. An extraordinary session of the Saeima may be convened if necessary during the breaks between sessions.
