For most schoolchildren in Latvia, the school year ends today 0 80

At the same time, for the graduating classes, the school year will continue for a few more weeks. Ninth graders will finish their studies on June 12, and students in the 12th grade will finish on June 19, as they have state exams to take.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, at the beginning of the current school year, 223,696 students in grades 1–12 started classes in Latvian schools.

A total of 553 general education institutions operated in the country this school year, including 477 municipal and 76 private schools.

For many schoolchildren, the end of the school year means the beginning of a three-month summer vacation, which will last until the beginning of September.
