Days will become longer and nights shorter: three months of maximum light are ahead.
Starting Thursday, Latvia will enter the so-called solar summer — the brightest period of the year, which will last until August 5. During this time, the days are the longest and the nights are the shortest, as well as having the highest levels of ultraviolet radiation.
The midpoint of this period is the summer solstice on June 21.
At the same time, astronomical spring continues until the solstice, while meteorological summer will begin later — when the average temperature remains above +15 degrees for five consecutive days.
It is during the upcoming months that the daylight reaches its maximum, which significantly affects both well-being and the rhythm of life.
