On Friday, Gripen fighters of the Hungarian Air Force flew over Riga for several minutes.
Hungarian pilots were training ahead of their participation in the airshow taking place on Saturday and Sunday at the Spilve airfield. This was reported to the LETA agency by the National Armed Forces (NAF).
As explained by the NAF, the Gripen flights were training exercises and served as preparation for the upcoming airshow. The military emphasized that there is no cause for concern among worried residents and guests of Riga.
There is more to come – the NAF reported that on Sunday in Riga, as well as in Lielvarde, preparations should be made for new low passes by foreign fighters.
According to publicly available information, the Baltic International Airshow will take place at the Spilve airfield on June 27 and 28, gathering participants from 12 countries and visitors from at least 35 states.
