The shipping company Tallink Grupp announced three cruises that will connect Riga and Helsinki this summer.
Currently, the company's website lists the times for three summer cruises from Helsinki to Riga and back.
All three departures and arrivals are designated as "special cruises" at a special price, which depends on the number of passengers on board.
It is no secret that many Latvians would very much like the Tallink ferry line to return to Riga. Based on the announced routes, it seems that the shipowners are not considering the previous Stockholm direction. This is quite understandable given the figures presented.
In particular, it is reported that in April of this year, the shipping company Tallink Grupp transported 416,859 passengers, which is almost at the same level as the same period last year (an increase of 0.1%). At the same time, the number of cargo units transported increased by 5.3% to 23,045, while the number of passenger vehicles decreased by 6% to 56,188.
By route, the number of passengers compared to last year only increased on the Estonia-Finland line, where it reached 271,549 people, which is 1.3% more than the previous year.
On the Finland-Sweden lines, 102,658 people were transported, which is 1% less, and on the Estonia-Sweden line – 42,652 passengers, indicating a decline of 4.7%...
On the Estonia-Sweden route, passengers were served by the cruise ship Baltic Queen and, until the end of the month, Superfast IX, while Silja Serenade, Silja Symphony, and Baltic Princess operated between Finland and Sweden, according to Tallink Grupp.
