The Day After Tomorrow - Forecasters Warn of Dramatic Weather Change

The week will start with warm and almost summer-like days, but from Wednesday, cold air will come to Latvia, making it significantly cooler, with increased cloudiness and precipitation, as meteorologists predict.

In the second half of the week, calmer weather is expected, with light winds and moderate temperatures.

On May 4, Latvia's Independence Restoration Day, it will be cloudy with some clear spells, and brief rain is expected in places, with a possibility of thunderstorms in the eastern regions in the evening. A southwest and west wind will blow, ranging from light to moderate, with gusts reaching 15-17 m/s. At night, the air temperature will drop to +8-12 degrees, and along the coast in many places, it will be no more than +5-8 degrees. During the day, the temperature will rise to +21-26 degrees, and in many places in Kurzeme and along the coast, it will reach +14-19 degrees.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, variable cloudiness is expected, with some areas completely overcast, especially in the eastern and central regions, where rain will occur from time to time, and thunderstorms are possible in the southeast on Tuesday. Since the wind will be weak, fog may develop in places at night. On Tuesday night, the thermometer will drop to +4-9 degrees, in the east to +10-12 degrees, and during the day it will rise to +16-21 degrees, along the coast to +10-15 degrees. The minimum air temperature on Wednesday night will range from 0 to +5 degrees, in the southeast from +5 to +10 degrees, and during the day it will warm up to +10-14 degrees, along the coast to +7-11 degrees.

In the second half of the week, the influence of the anticyclone will strengthen, and precipitation will subside. On Thursday and Friday, partial cloudiness without precipitation is expected. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +2-7 degrees, and during the day to +12-17 degrees.
