On the day of the 36th anniversary of the restoration of Latvia's independence, warm but windy weather is expected, with brief rains possible in some areas, according to data from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
At night, the weather will be cloudy, with some clearings. In certain areas in the east of the country, a brief rain is possible. The wind will be weak, coming from the south, and the air temperature will drop to +8…+12 degrees, while along the coast it will be several degrees cooler in many places.
In Riga, cloudy weather without precipitation is expected at night. A weak southern wind will blow, and the air temperature will be +10…+12 degrees.
During the day, the sky will be cloudy with clearings, and the sun will occasionally appear. Brief rains are possible in some areas, and in the evening, thunderstorms may occur in the eastern regions of the country.
The wind will strengthen slightly and will blow from the southwest and west — from weak to moderate, with gusts in most areas reaching 15–17 meters per second. The air temperature will rise to +21…+26 degrees, but it will be cooler along the coast and in Kurzeme — +14…+19 degrees. In the middle of the day, the level of ultraviolet radiation will reach a moderately high level.
In Riga, cloudy and dry weather will persist. The wind will be southwest and west — from weak to moderate, with gusts up to 14 meters per second in the afternoon. The air temperature will rise to +21…+23 degrees, but it will be a few degrees cooler in the northern part of the city.
