On Sunday, the air temperature rose to +20...+25 degrees across most of the country, according to data from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center.
With a western and southwestern wind, cooler air remains on the western coast of Kurzeme and in places on the Vidzeme coast.
At 14:00, the air temperature ranged from +10.8 degrees in the Ventspils port to +24.4 degrees in Bauska and +24.7 degrees in the center of the capital.
The thermometer at Riga Airport showed +25 degrees at 13:20.
This is the highest temperature in the country since September. On September 21 last year, the thermometer in Bauska rose to +26.4 degrees, while the maximum air temperature for the month was +28.2 degrees on September 6 in Rujiena.
Due to the increased concentration of ozone, the air in Latvia is of average quality, with some areas experiencing poor quality.
Meteorologists forecast that on Monday, May 4, a gusty southwestern wind will blow across Latvia, and in Latgale and Selia, the air temperature will rise to +25...+27 degrees. In the following days, it will cool down slightly.
