If you previously bought medications in neighboring Estonia, you no longer need to do so. Here’s why.

Starting in May, Russian-language inserts for medications will become unavailable in the Estonian Medicines Registry, as the government is discontinuing their translation and updating.

According to the Medicines Department, the registry will retain instructions in Estonian, and for products approved for sale by the European Commission, information in English will also be available.

Russian-language instructions will no longer be added to the registry or updated.

This change is the result of a review of government services, during which it was recognized that preparing and updating translations into Russian is no longer feasible due to modern technological capabilities, reports Baltic News Service.

The government recommends using online translators when necessary, which allow for real-time translation of texts into the desired language. At the same time, it is noted that translations performed by artificial intelligence may not always be completely accurate, but apparently, this is no longer a concern in Tallinn, just as it has long ceased to be in Riga...
