On the night of May 9, in addition to the night bus route to the airport, seven more night bus routes will be introduced, the LETA agency was informed by the public relations department of the municipal company "Rīgas satiksme".
Night buses will operate on weekend nights — from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday. Bus N1 will run on the route "Center — Teika — Jugla — Mežciems — Center". Bus N2 will run on the route "Center — Sarkandaugava — Vecmilgrāvis", bus N3 will run on the route "Center — Ilguciems — Daugavgrīva", bus N4 will run on the route "Center — Imanta — Zolitūde — Agenskalns — Center", bus N6 will run on the route "Center — Purvciems — Plavnieki — Dārziņi — Center", bus N7 will run on the route "Center — Kengarags — Latgales Street — Center", and bus N10 will run on the route "Center — Agenskalns — Ziepniekkalns — Center".
Night service will be provided until September 27.
The new routes will complement the existing night service, where bus N22 runs every night between the airport and the city center.
Night service this summer is organized based on the experience of last summer — some routes are retained, one improved, and others introduced anew.
At the stops included in the routes, the bus stops only on demand. The same tickets and discounts will apply on night buses as in daytime public transport.
The turnover of "Rīgas satiksme" last year, according to preliminary data, amounted to 53.622 million euros, which is 2.2% more than the previous year, while the company's profit increased several times — to 10.474 million euros.
"Rīgas satiksme" provides passenger transport by buses, trams, and trolleybuses in Riga, as well as manages parking on the sides of city streets. The sole owner of the enterprise is the Riga City Council.
