As part of the ongoing cleaning of the main water pipelines, from Tuesday at 20:00 until April 16 at 20:00, the flushing of the pipeline from 1st Line of Čiekurkalns to the discharge into the Daugava will be conducted, the communications department of the municipal enterprise "Rīgas ūdens" informed the LETA agency.
The work will be carried out on a section of the main water pipeline approximately 7300 meters long, which includes segments on 1st Line of Čiekurkalns, as well as on Patversmes, Dambja, and Urieststes streets.
During the work, water turbidity may occur in Čiekurkalns, Sarkandaugava, and in the vicinity of Urieststes and Dambja streets.
After flushing the pipelines in these areas, the water may be saturated with air, giving it a whitish tint visually; however, it remains safe for use.
In the first phase of the work, there may be temporary interruptions in water supply or reduced water pressure in some buildings, and during nighttime hours, there may be a slight increase in noise levels at the intersection of Viskalju Street and 1st Line of Čiekurkalns.
The flushing is conducted using air-water cleaning technology, gradually advancing from the water intake points to the distribution networks.
It was previously reported that the municipal enterprise of Riga "Rīgas ūdens" ended the last year with a profit of over 590,000 euros, according to the audited report of the company for 2025.
The company's turnover increased by 5.2% compared to 2024, reaching 80.32 million euros.
