Ryanair Dislikes Passengers in Jeans... Will They Be Banned?

The airline Ryanair sparked widespread discussions by posting on social media advising passengers to avoid wearing one specific item of clothing. The unconventional advice from the low-cost carrier confused many travelers and divided them into two camps.

Ryanair's Clothing Recommendations for Passengers

When flying with budget airlines, comfort is often sacrificed: legroom is limited, the distance between seats is small, and during longer flights, this can cause significant discomfort. Therefore, making the right clothing choice becomes especially important for enhancing the flying experience.

In one of its TikTok videos, Ryanair showcased the landing of a plane on the island of Corfu, accompanying the video with the usual message: "Thank you for flying with Ryanair."

However, users' attention was drawn to an unusual note:

"It’s 2026 — let’s stop flying in jeans."

Passenger Reactions Were Mixed

Many users questioned the airline's stance, asking: "What’s wrong with jeans? Please explain!"

Ryanair responded in its characteristic playful manner: "What’s happening with them?"

Supporters of the recommendation agreed that jeans can be uncomfortable during flights lasting several hours.

Some social media users passionately supported the idea:

"I agree. This should be banned. Only comfortable clothing!"

They advocated for leggings and other stretchy clothing as more suitable options for flying.

At the same time, others actively defended their choice of jeans. One commenter noted:

"No, it’s just a one-hour flight — let me live."

Another added that jeans help save space in carry-on luggage and avoid extra fees for checked baggage. And anyway, you can layer on a lot of clothing...
