In order to limit the spread of flu and other acute respiratory infections, stricter anti-epidemic measures are being introduced at Riga 1st Hospital, including restrictions on visiting patients and clients, reported LETA by the hospital representative Vivita Leismane.

In the short-term social care center of the hospital, visits to the premises have been suspended, except in cases where it is necessary to visit an "extremely seriously ill client." However, the transfer of items prepared by relatives to clients continues as usual. If a client is not prescribed bed rest or isolation, they are allowed to be visited on the hospital grounds during outdoor walks.

Riga 1st Hospital urges residents to understand the introduced restrictions, which are aimed at ensuring the health and safety of clients, patients, and staff.

Due to a sharp increase in illness rates, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control declared a flu epidemic on December 9.
