On Friday, cooler and drier air will begin to flow into Latvia from the north, meteorologists forecast, writes LETA.
In many places, brief precipitation is expected. Cloud cover will decrease, and in the evening, clear weather is anticipated over most of the country, with more clouds remaining in Kurzeme.
The speed of the northern wind will reach gusts of up to 13 meters per second in some areas of central and eastern parts of the country.
In the afternoon, the air temperature will range from zero degrees in Aluksne to +6 degrees in Liepaja. In the evening, temperatures in many areas will drop below zero, and icy conditions may occur on certain sections of the roads.
In Riga, a light and brief rain is possible, clearing up by evening. Gusts of the northern wind are expected to reach 13 meters per second. The air temperature will decrease to +4 degrees in the second half of the day and to zero degrees in the evening.
In Finland and Sweden, an anticyclone is strengthening, bringing cooler air from the north under its influence.
