In 2024, there were 5,328 divorces in Latvia, which is 15 more than in 2023. Among them, 1,510 couples had been married for five to nine years. Of these, 354 marriages were dissolved after five years. Couples who had been married for no more than four years divorced 1,179 times last year. This included 328 marriages that lasted two years. In 2024, marriages lasting from 10 to 14 years were dissolved 857 times, including 200 times after 10 years. Meanwhile, marriages lasting 15–19 years were dissolved in 672 cases, with the majority—148—being dissolved after 16 years. In 2024, marriages lasting 20–24 years were dissolved in 344 cases, including 89 after 20 years. At the same time, last year, 211 marriages lasting from 25 to 29 years were dissolved, including 50 after 26 years and another 50 after 27 years. Last year, Latvia also saw 237 marriages dissolved that lasted from 30 to 34 years, as well as 318 marriages that lasted 35 years or more.
