The head of the German Air Force, Holger Neumann, threatened Russia with airstrikes on Russian cities if Russia attacks a NATO country.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Lieutenant General Holger Neumann stated that if Moscow attacks any NATO country, it will respond with devastating airstrikes, particularly against Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, the Kola Peninsula, and the fleet in the Black Sea.

"Fighting tonight means: if someone calls me right now and says we have this situation, we must be ready right now — and we are ready," Neumann said. He added that he hopes there will be no war between Europe and Russia.

The good news for the Baltic states is that Germany will defend "every inch" of NATO territory equally, without dividing countries into security zones with different priorities, he emphasized.

"I think we need to make very serious efforts to monitor and, if necessary, act in certain regions from a security perspective," he said.
