The famous actress, who dedicated ten years of her life to the Comedy Theater, faced an unexpected and painful decision from the management.
Famous actress Ekaterina Volkova, who turned 44, shared shocking news on her social media: she was fired from the Comedy Theater, where she had faithfully served for ten years, citing age. "Who am I to remain silent about what happened a month ago? I was fired under the article 'Old.' I don't know if such a thing exists in the Labor Code, but in the theater where I served, it turned out to be the main reason," Volkova quoted herself. According to her, the artistic director explained this decision by several factors: Volkova's unwillingness to participate in projects that did not interest her, the absence of suitable roles, and, most painfully, the fact that she is 'old.' This word, as the actress admitted, sounded like a real sentence to her. It is worth noting that since 2011, the artistic director of the Moscow Comedy Theater has been Sergey Yefremov.
Ekaterina Volkova expressed her outrage, writing: "No real man has the right to tell a woman that she is old. It is not 'fair,' but low and ugly. A beautiful man does not act this way. A real one — even more so. Some doors have closed, but others have already opened. By themselves."
