This year, Zhanna Friske would have turned 52, but she passed away in 2015 due to glioblastoma (a malignant brain tumor). Her parents lost contact with their grandson Platon due to a conflict with Dmitry Shepelev, who does not allow them to see him.

Shepelev explained that he declined offers for meetings because they were under cameras and almost all invitations to discuss relationships were for some talk shows. He protects Platon from public attention by not showing his photos and not taking him to social events.

"All of them were about one thing — to meet in a television studio, under cameras, in public. There were no other options," Shepelev said. "I am very saddened that the closest people to Platon have irretrievably missed his childhood, were not there on ordinary days, without cameras and reasons. This is something that cannot be returned and cannot be reshot. I cry when I think about it. This is their choice, their pain, and I cannot change it," Dmitry noted.

The conflict between Shepelev and Friske's parents has lasted for more than 10 years over Platon's upbringing. The court established meetings (1.5 hours a month), but they do not happen. Shepelev spoke about an attack by his father-in-law with a knife and other conflicts.

"In front of me and my son, they break my guard's arm. He covers us with his body, and they try to beat him and give access to the grandfather, who reaches out to the grandson and hits me. And this happens when I am holding my two-year-old child," the TV host was outraged.

Another loud scandal erupted after Zhanna's death when the charity fund demanded a report on the remaining amount. There were no receipts. "Rusfond" through the court obliged the heirs to return the debt of 21.6 million rubles collected for her treatment. Shepelev and the family paid it jointly.

Vladimir Friske accuses Shepelev of using the child for revenge and publicity, while the TV host claims he has shielded Platon for his safety and health, as rare meetings ended for the boy with severe stress and psychosomatic illnesses.

Now the teenager lives in Shepelev's new family, with designer Ekaterina Tulupova.

"By Platon's desk, there is a large photograph of his mother. She watches over his sleep, she is with him on his big boy victories and on the most ordinary days," Shepelev says.

The showman states that his child "grows in love and peace," and that is all others need to know about him.
