New photographs from the rehearsal of Mikhail Efremov's first play after his release from prison have appeared online. The photos are published by the theater "Workshop 12" of Nikita Mikhalkov.
The first appearance of the 62-year-old actor on stage will be in the duo performance "Without Witnesses", where his partner will be Nikita Mikhalkov's eldest daughter — Anna Mikhalkova. The premiere is scheduled for the end of March. Ticket prices range from two to 30 thousand rubles.
The director of the psychedelic drama, based on the play by Sofia Prokofyeva "Conversation Without a Witness", is Nikita Mikhalkov himself. The plot centers around the story of former spouses with a theme of alcohol, which resonates with Efremov's own life.
Recall that in June 2020, Mikhail Efremov was involved in a serious car accident on Smolenskaya Square in Moscow: he drove into oncoming traffic and collided with a van, resulting in the death of the driver. An examination confirmed that the actor was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The court sentenced him to eight years in a penal colony, later reducing the sentence to seven and a half years.
In April of last year, Efremov was released on parole, promising the judge to stop consuming alcohol. After that, Nikita Mikhalkov announced his intention to hire the actor in his theater, where, according to rumors, Efremov's fee will be around 2.5 million rubles per shooting day. In addition to the theater, the actor is also returning to film — he will appear in a new project by Sergey Kalvarsky, the director of the series "Fisher".
