The Salvador Dalí Museum in Florida Expands for $65 Million

The Salvador Dalí Museum in Florida has announced a major expansion "Reveal" costing $65 million. By 2028, the museum will feature new digital galleries and an educational center, with the building's architecture inspired by the optical illusions of surrealism.

The Dalí Museum, which holds the largest collection of works by the great surrealist outside of Spain, has officially announced a $65 million expansion project. Construction will begin in 2026, with the grand opening of the new spaces scheduled for 2028.

The project, codenamed "Reveal," will add approximately 3,250 square meters to the existing building. The main focus is on the synthesis of classical art and high technology: the new halls will be adapted for immersive digital exhibitions. Additionally, the museum will feature a modern educational center.

The architectural solution from Beck Group promises to "play with visitors' expectations," echoing the visual paradoxes of Dalí himself. Museum Executive Director Hank Hine emphasized that the goal of the renovation is not just to increase tourist traffic, but to create a space for "bolder intellectual challenges." The museum will remain open to visitors throughout the construction period.
