In March and early April, it is recommended to use winter baits (i.e., finely ground) with the addition of feed maggots.
Preparing bait is not difficult. Dry mixtures are available in fishing stores, and each package contains recipes. The contents of the bag should be poured into a bucket and water should be gradually added while mixing thoroughly. It is recommended to use a drill with a whisk for better control over the consistency of the mixture.
There are two stages in moistening the bait: the first (main) moistening and the second - additional moistening, which is done after the bait has absorbed the water and the particles have swollen. This process takes about 10-15 minutes.
You can add lures or baits that you plan to use for fishing to the prepared bait. However, it is better to do this on site, especially if you are going to use feed maggots, as they dissolve in the bait in just a couple of hours.
The best spring baits for peaceful fish: maggot, waxworm, caddisfly larva, worm, dough, pearl barley. For catching predatory fish, almost any artificial lure can be used. But this all depends on the skills of the angler and the type of predator.

Typically, the base of the bait consists of inexpensive ingredients. It may include compound feed, halva, seeds, ground pearl barley (crushed), ground peas, breadcrumbs, millet. To these components, you add those that you plan to use as bait or lure.
