Gastroenterologist S. Seti identified key mistakes made during breakfast that harm digestion.
The first of these is skipping the morning meal. Long breaks between meals increase the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure. Additionally, they often lead to stomach disorders and bloating.
The specialist also noted that consuming coffee on an empty stomach can cause heartburn. After waking up, it is advisable to drink a glass of water and have a light snack before enjoying a cup of coffee and the main breakfast.
The doctor recommended including eggs, oatmeal, seeds, or a handful of nuts in the morning menu. At the same time, he labeled cornflakes and store-bought juices as poor choices due to their high sugar content.
In conclusion, the expert emphasized that one should not eat on the go: this slows down digestion and prevents the body from fully absorbing nutrients, reports the Daily Mail.
