On Friday, a deceased person was extracted from a water body in Aizkraukle, the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) reported to the LETA agency, writes LETA.
In the past 24 hours, the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) received a total of 91 calls, including 45 for fire extinguishing.
Of these, 32 were related to dry grass fires. The largest fires of last year's grass were recorded in the Rezekne, Madona, and Gulbene regions, where the fire covered an area of two hectares.
On Friday after 7:00 PM, the SFRS received a call to Luznava parish in the Rezekne region, where a shed measuring 50 square meters was on fire. A person was evacuated from a nearby residential house. The work at the scene was completed at 8:56 PM.
Of the total number of calls, 26 were related to rescue operations, and another 20 calls turned out to be false.
