For security reasons, entry into Latvia is prohibited for four foreigners

On Tuesday, for security reasons, entry into Latvia was prohibited for four foreign citizens, the State Border Guard (SBG) reported to the LETA agency.

Entry is prohibited for three citizens of Belarus and one citizen of Russia. All of them were returned to their countries of departure.

Meanwhile, at the "Grebnevo" border control point, a citizen of Uzbekistan leaving Latvia was found to have presented fake technical inspection certificates for a cargo truck and trailer. An administrative case has been initiated against him.

At the "Paternieki" border control point, a citizen of Belarus was detained for not having a valid visa or residence permit in the Schengen Area. He has also been held administratively liable.

During immigration control within the country, violations of entry or stay rules were identified for one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Ethiopia, and one citizen of Egypt.

For violations in the operation of transport and watercraft, border guard officers held 19 individuals administratively liable or denied entry — five citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Serbia, three citizens of Uzbekistan, three citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Kazakhstan, as well as one citizen each from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Moldova.
