The son of Mango founder suspected of murdering billionaire father

In Spain, Jonathan Andik — the eldest son of Mango brand founder Isaac Andik, who died in the winter of 2024 in the mountains of Catalonia — has been detained. Initially, the billionaire's death was considered an accident, but now the investigation suspects that the entrepreneur may have been intentionally pushed off a cliff.

Jonathan Andik, the eldest son of billionaire Isaac Andik, who founded the Mango brand, was arrested this afternoon and taken to the Martorell court for questioning. Recall that 71-year-old Isaac Andik died in the winter of 2024 in the mountains of Catalonia — at that moment, his son was right next to him.

Initially, Jonathan claimed that the tragedy happened accidentally: his father slipped and fell into the abyss right before his eyes. Since there were no other witnesses and no signs of a crime were found, the billionaire's death was ruled an accident. However, later investigators noticed inconsistencies in Jonathan's account, which led them to believe that the entrepreneur's death was not accidental.

After further investigation, the case was reclassified: now the police believe that Isaac Andik was intentionally pushed off the cliff — and suspicions fell on his eldest son, Jonathan.

According to Spanish media, law enforcement conducted a large-scale investigation: for several months, they analyzed electronic correspondence, movement routes, and the dynamics of relationships within the Andik family. It turned out that conflicts had long been brewing between Isaac and his eldest son regarding a dispute over the future of the business and the distribution of assets.

Recall that the tragedy with Andik occurred on December 14, 2024. Isaac and Jonathan were on an excursion near Barcelona, close to the Salnitre caves, on their way to the Montserrat monastery. As his son recounted, his father slipped on the trail and fell down — there was no way to help him. It is known that the billionaire loved mountain walks and had conquered many peaks.

At that time, the famous corporation issued an official press release confirming the death of its founder. "With deep regret, we announce the unexpected death of Isaac Andik, our non-executive chairman and founder of Mango, as a result of an accident that occurred this Saturday," the publication stated.

Who is Isaac Andik

Isaac Andik was considered the richest person in Catalonia and was among the ten richest people in Spain. According to Forbes, his fortune exceeded $4.5 billion.

The entrepreneur founded his business in 1984 by opening the first Mango store in the center of Barcelona. Subsequently, the brand turned into one of the largest international clothing chains.

After the billionaire's death, Jonathan Andik was named the main heir to the business. He was a member of the board of directors of Mango and publicly stated that he intended to continue his father's work.

So far, neither Jonathan nor his representatives have commented on the arrest. Lawyers for the entrepreneur arrived at the court, intending to clarify the accusations against their client.

The story of Isaac Andik's death, which was considered a tragic accident for almost a year and a half, unexpectedly turned into a high-profile criminal investigation, reports bb.lv. Now public attention is focused not only on the inheritance of the multi-billion-dollar Mango empire but also on the relationships within one of the most influential business clans in Spain.
