A Moldovan Citizen Attempted to Enter Latvia with Fake Documents

On Monday, a Moldovan citizen attempted to enter Latvia with fake documents, reported the State Border Guard (SBG) representative to the LETA agency.

A Moldovan citizen presented a fake trailer registration certificate to border guards at the Terehovo border control point. He has been held administratively responsible.

Additionally, in the past 24 hours, a citizen of Uzbekistan was denied entry at the Riga Airport border control point as he could not justify the purpose and conditions of his trip. Four other Moldovan citizens were also denied entry on security grounds.

Furthermore, at Riga Airport, a Latvian citizen was denied exit from the country because his travel document was invalid for travel to the United Kingdom.

In the past 24 hours, violations of stay conditions were identified among 11 foreigners arriving at border control points. They did not have valid visas or residence permits, lacked valid travel documents, or had exceeded the duration of stay permitted by their visas in the Schengen Area.

During immigration control within the country, violations of entry or stay rules were recorded for ten individuals — three citizens of Bangladesh, two from Latvia, and one each from Russia, India, Kazakhstan, Morocco, and Somalia.

On Monday, as well as on Saturday and Sunday, no attempts of illegal crossing of the Latvian-Belarusian border were recorded.
