On Tuesday night, the State Police announced a man wanted who may have committed a property crime and then caused a traffic accident in the Riga neighborhood of Sarkandaugava and fled the scene, reports LETA.
Witnesses reported that on Monday evening, a car was speeding down Duntes Street. At the end of the street, the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, which veered onto the intersection, crossed the tram tracks, and overturned, ending up on its side in the green zone next to the Circle K gas station.
A few hours later, the police issued a statement that Denis Mironchenko, born in 1995, is wanted for causing an accident on December 1 at 21:25 on Tvaika Street in Riga, after which he fled the scene on foot.
According to the police, no one was injured in the accident except for the driver.
Prior to this, the man may have committed a property crime.
He was wearing a white hat and was missing a shoe on one foot.
The police urge anyone with information about Mironchenko's possible whereabouts to call 112.
Law enforcement reminds that no one is considered guilty until their guilt in committing a crime is proven in accordance with the law.
