The tiger belonged to the famous former trainer Carmen Zander, who is referred to as the "queen of tigers." The woman herself was not harmed, but her assistant was injured. He was taken to the hospital.

The predator was kept in an industrial zone. How the tiger managed to escape from its enclosure is still unknown. Armed police shot the animal in a neighboring garden. Firefighters cordoned off the area.

Carmen Zander had previously performed with her tigers at various shows. In particular, in 2018, she participated in the International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo. Later, the trainer settled with her tigers near Leipzig.

The German publication Focus calls Zander a controversial figure. According to media reports, she organized a new show with tigers in the town of Schkeuditz near Leipzig without the necessary permit.

The incident near Leipzig has reignited the debate in Germany about keeping wild animals in private shows and circus projects. Experts note that such incidents raise questions not only about the safety of people but also about the conditions in which the animals themselves are kept.
