On Sunday afternoon, a 46-year-old man climbed onto the Great Imperial Throne in the St. George Hall of the Hermitage and began reading papers. When a museum employee tried to stop him, the man pulled out two knives, according to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

A local resident, who called himself an entrepreneur, climbed over the rope barrier and sat on the Great Imperial Throne. After that, he began loudly reading papers he had brought with him. Visitors heard words in his speech about bribes, loans, and bankruptcy.

When a museum employee tried to bring the man down, he pulled out two knives and approached the staff member. Visitors were evacuated from the hall.

"During the arrest, the man attempted to actively resist the officers," the department reported.

The violator was taken to the station.
