The Bank of Latvia will today issue a silver collectible coin 'Straume' ('Flow'), dedicated to the Oscar-winning animated film, the Bank of Latvia reported to the LETA agency.

The obverse of the coin features the main character of the animated film 'Flow' - a dark gray cat with yellow eyes. At the bottom edge of the coin, there is an inscription in a semicircle: on the left in English 'Flow', and on the right 'Straume'.

The reverse of the coin depicts the other characters from the animated film - a dog, a cat, a capybara, a lemur, and a bird.

The mintage of the coin is 6000 pieces.

The weight of the coin is 22 grams, and the diameter is 35 millimeters. The graphic design authors of the coin are director Gints Zilbalodis and Peteris Tenisons.

The price of the coin at the Bank of Latvia will be 77 euros, with a purchase limit of three coins per person.

The coin is produced at the Dutch mint 'Koninklijke Nederlandse Munt'.

The animated film directed by Gints Zilbalodis 'Flow' received the first Oscar in the history of Latvia, winning in the category of 'Best Feature-Length Animated Film'. 'Flow' was also nominated in the category of 'Best Foreign Film'.

Collectible coins serve as a means of payment only in the country of their issuance. Their nominal value differs from that of regular circulating coins.
