If Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, he can come to Moscow, said Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov on Thursday evening, according to Russian media.
“Zelensky can come to Moscow at any moment. President Putin said that if Zelensky wants to talk, he can come to Moscow and do so,” said Peskov to reporters at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, responding to questions about the open letter from Zelensky to Putin published on Thursday evening, in which he proposes to meet.
As reported by Bb.lv, in the letter, however, Zelensky indicated that the meeting should take place in some third country, rather than in Ukraine or Russia.
Peskov also stated that the Kremlin has familiarized itself with Zelensky's letter, which was published at the moment when Putin was participating in an event; however, the content of the letter will be conveyed to Putin.
As previously reported, on Thursday in an open letter to Putin, Zelensky proposed to meet in person to discuss ending the war and stated that Ukraine is ready for direct negotiations between the leaders of the two countries.
