The candidate for the post of Prime Minister from the party 'Rising Sun for Latvia' ('Austošā saule Latvijai') in the elections for the 15th Saeima will be the party chairman Raivis Zeltīts, Zeltīts announced at a press conference on Friday.

Zeltīts will be the leader in the Riga district, in Zemgale the list leader will be Gatis Ilgažs, in Vidzeme - Dace Lindberga, in Kurzeme - Jānis Zalans, and in Latgale - Aiva Zalīte.

Zeltīts acknowledged that the top candidates on the list, except for himself, essentially have no political experience.

In Riga, the second candidate will be former Saeima deputy from the New Conservative Party Sandis Riekstiņš, who is currently fighting as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the third will be party board member Andris Vēlps, and the fourth will be former deputy of the Supreme Council of Latvia, previously a member of various other parties, long-time director of the Finance Department of the Riga City Council Raimonds Krūmiņš.

The party's election slogan will be 'For family, people, and state, for the revival of Latvian Latvia.'

As a priority for the party, Zeltīts mentioned 'stopping mass immigration.' The second priority of the party will be to promote birth rates. The party promises to strengthen family values in education and the media environment, as well as to implement practical mechanisms to support families. The party proposes to introduce a childbirth allowance of up to three average salaries, monthly childcare support at the level of the minimum wage, summing it for each minor child until the youngest child is one and a half years old.

Zeltīts also stated as a priority an economic growth plan, or a plan to double the economy in eight years. The party promises to break out of economic backwardness by proposing to direct the savings of the second pension level into the national economy, reducing the share of social contributions from workers by 6% and allocating the savings to the first pension level. The party will also propose to increase the tax-free minimum for personal income tax to the level of the average salary, which is currently 1900 euros per month.

The national-conservative party 'Rising Sun for Latvia' was founded in August last year.
