In the last 24 hours, Russia has launched over 1560 drones and 56 missiles at Ukraine, said President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. One of the main targets of the attack was Kyiv, where a rescue operation continues after a strike on a residential building.
Ukraine experienced one of the largest air attacks in the entire war. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, since the morning of Wednesday, Russia has launched over 1560 drones and 56 missiles across the country.
The main strike targeted Kyiv.
Zelensky reported that only on the night of May 14, Russian forces used more than 670 drones and various types of missiles. About 800 drones were launched the day before.
“These are definitely not the actions of people who think the war is coming to an end,” the President of Ukraine stated.
In Kyiv, a rescue operation continues after a strike on a nine-story residential building. Part of the building has collapsed.

Врятовано десятки людей. На жаль, одна людина загинула. Мої співчуття рідним і близьким. Під завалами ще можуть бути люди.

According to Zelensky, dozens of people have been rescued from the rubble. At least one death has been confirmed. It is possible that more people may remain under the collapsed structures.
Local authorities report that at least 32 people have been injured in the capital.
Damage has been recorded in about 20 locations throughout Kyiv. Residential buildings, a school, a veterinary clinic, and other civil infrastructure facilities have been affected.
Other regions of Ukraine have also been hit. In Kremenchuk, energy infrastructure was attacked, while in Chornomorsk, the port and residential buildings were damaged.
The scale of the attack demonstrates how quickly the nature of the war is changing: drones are increasingly being used simultaneously with missiles to overload air defense systems and strike various regions of the country.
Zelensky once again urged Ukraine's allies not to weaken support for air defense.
According to him, Ukraine needs further implementation of the PURL program to protect against ballistic strikes and strengthen the air defense system.
The President of Ukraine emphasized that pressure on Russia must continue if the international community is genuinely interested in achieving peace.
In recent months, Russia has regularly conducted combined attacks using a large number of drones and missiles; however, the current strike has become one of the largest in terms of the number of targets involved in a short period of time.
