The potential terrorist was promised 600 euros.
A terrorist attack near the Bank of America building in Paris has been thwarted, Deutsche Welle reports. A police patrol noticed and caught a man in the act who intended to plant explosives at the American bank's branch. According to the French prosecutor's office, this occurred on the night of March 28.
According to the investigation, the would-be attacker had a homemade explosive device with him - a five-liter canister, presumably filled with flammable material, and a pyrotechnic device that was supposed to serve as a detonator.
The detained individual stated that he was recruited through the Snapchat platform, promising 600 euros for carrying out the task. He had an accomplice who was supposed to film everything. The second perpetrator managed to escape.
The French investigation believes that the attempted terrorist attack was a "realization of Iran's threats against American and Israeli interests in Europe."
