President Alexander Stubb stated that there is no place for racism in Finnish society. According to Stubb, his task as president is to protect human rights.

He emphasized that Finland's success is also based on the protection of minorities, including migrants.

The overwhelming majority of residents in Finland believe that racism undermines both societal security and their own sense of safety, even if they themselves have not become victims of this phenomenon. This is according to a survey conducted on behalf of the Finnish Red Cross.

Nine out of ten respondents fully or partially agree with the statement about the importance of combating racism.

However, less than half of the witnesses to racism admitted that they intervened when confronted with manifestations of this phenomenon. The most common reason for staying on the sidelines was that the situation resolved itself. The second most common reason cited by respondents was uncertainty about how they should act. Just under a quarter of respondents did not dare to intervene in what was happening. One in ten stated that they simply did not want to get involved.

Most cases of racism reported by respondents were noted online and on social media. Just under half encountered it in public places.
