Sunday will be one of the hottest days in recent weeks in Latvia. However, by the second half of the day, the weather will change sharply: thunderstorms, heavy rains, and hail are expected in many areas.
Residents of Latvia can expect truly summer weather. According to meteorologists' forecasts, during the day the air temperature will rise to +25...+29 degrees, while it will be slightly cooler on the coast — from +20 to +25 degrees.
The first half of the day in many areas will be sunny with variable cloudiness. However, after lunch, the weather situation will begin to change.
Meteorologists predict thunderstorm rains in many parts of the country. In some places, precipitation may be very intense, and in certain areas, hail is not excluded.
During the thunderstorm, the wind will also strengthen. While for most of the day it will be weak, individual gusts may reach 20 meters per second.
What is important to know: the first half of the day will be the most comfortable for outdoor activities and trips. In the second half of the day, weather conditions may deteriorate quickly, so it is advisable to keep an eye on forecasts and consider the risk of thunderstorms.
It will also be hot in Riga. In the capital, the air will warm up to +27...+29 degrees.
Sunny weather is expected in the morning, but after noon, there will be more clouds, and thunderstorms and heavy rain are likely by evening. During the thunderstorms, gusty winds may also occur.
The upcoming night will remain calm and mostly dry. Variable cloudiness and light winds will persist across the country.
At night, the air temperature in most areas will range from +15 to +20 degrees. Only in the eastern part of the country will it be slightly cooler.
In Riga, no precipitation is expected at night, and the temperature will drop to +18...+20 degrees.
After a hot start to the day, the weather on Sunday may change literally within hours, so meteorologists recommend considering the possibility of heavy rains and thunderstorms when planning outdoor activities and trips.
