An incident involving a concrete mixer occurred at the A5 ring road near the Riga Hydroelectric Power Station, where a tank detached while the vehicle was in motion.
The State Police received a report of the incident at 13:28.
Notably, the police officers themselves noticed the occurrence while they were on duty and passing by the scene.
According to the police, the tank detached from the vehicle and ended up on the roadway.
What is important to know: despite the potentially dangerous situation, no one was injured as a result of the incident. There was also no need to restrict traffic on this section of the road.
It has not yet been reported whether the tank was full and if any other vehicles were damaged.
The circumstances of the incident are still to be established. The police are investigating the reasons why the structure of the heavy truck failed during movement.
The incident could have led to serious consequences; however, this time there were no injuries and no significant traffic disruptions.
